The BattleBots Scoring Method

Various different fighting competitions have their own scoring procedures, including the scores that are used in boxing matches. In BattleBots fighting there is a scoring method, but it is different from that of boxing. That' s because with the BattleBots scoring method there are fewer, if any, possibilities, for ties in the game. Also, three are three important categories that are used for determining the winner.

In BattleBots fighting the scoring is determined by three judges. Each judge will have its own specific opinions on how the robots have competed. This is similar to that in boxing in that in the sport of boxing there are three judges. But unlike in boxing the scoring has to be done in three categories where one will get all of the points and the opponent will not get any.

There are three categories used in the competition. These categories involve aggression, strategy and damage. Each category is worth five points. This is done to help with keeping the competition level close. The most that one robot can get is forty five points, and because the abilities of the robots can be varied at different times of the game it can be especially difficult for there to ever be a draw. In fact, there are no draws in specific categories in the scoring method used here.

The first of the categories is aggression. This relates to how often the robot is fighting. If the robot is just hanging around and not doing anything during a good portion of the match that robot will probably not get the aggression points from the judges. A robot that is fighting all the time will get those points though.

Strategy is the second category. This involves how well the robot is able to defend itself, get across hazards in the BattleBots fighting arena and how well the robot can get through the weaknesses that its competitor has.

The last of the categories is that of damage. This relates to how much damage an opponent will be able to perform in the game. The points will be taken in for a competitor as long as that robot is able to pull off a fight without getting too much damage itself.

These scores are all done only when the two robots are still intact at the end of a three minute match. If a robot cannot continue during a match or a controller forfeits during the match then the BattleBots scoring method will not apply because a knock out or forfeit will have taken place.

BattleBots fighting is an exciting and technological competition. The BattleBots scoring method is one of the many ways of how technical the game is.
